I was born in Iran and spent my early childhood in the southwestern province of Khuzestan. I went to kindergarten in London in the late 1970s and attended the International elementary schools of Pasargad in Ahvaz and Community School of Shiraz. I received my secondary and upper secondary schooling in Sweden to which my family immigrated and settled in the mid 1980s. My higher education was done in England and I currently work and live in New York with my husband Hamid Dabashi and our daughter Chelgis and our son Golchin.
